HEYYY-YYY BEAUTIFUL READERS, whom I appreciate so much. I'm in the last THREE weeks of editing my manuscript over here before I give it to my agent after two-and-a-half years of obsessing. The finish line is so close.
And it is time for another BOOK CLUB. This month I exclusively read picks from luminous Albanian-British "dark pop" sensation Dua Lipa, whose book club Service95 has a fabulously chaotic and cluttered Instagram. Honestly, combing through it for the books gave me the ol' twitch-eye. I think it is a very well-curated book club.
Dua, I learned all March, definitely has a "book type": she likes far-flung international settings, gritty neighborhoods full of unsavory characters, and LGBTQ narratives told on a high artistic level. I had strong feelings about several titles this month, from my easy #1 pick to my absolutely last-ranked #8, a book I barely understood and wished I could have texted Dua about, all, "WHAT THE F IS GOING ON?"
Happy reading!
